TAOS ART GALLERIES
Taos art gallery guide and listing of fine art galleries located in Taos, New Mexico.
The art galleries feature traditional art and contemporary fine art, Native American
art, Southwest art, Indian Art and Pottery, glass art, prints, sculpture, fine art
photography and other types of visual art. If you're interested in the Southwest art
experiece, or maybe even collecting art, visiting Taos will be enjoyable. On the first
Saturday of each month, galleries and studios feature demonstrations, artist receptions,
and other artist events. The galleries and art studios below are just some of many that
you'll see in Taos.
The Taos art colony is one of the reason that Taos is such an art destination. The Taos
Society of Artists was formed in 1915. The founding artists were the first formally
trained artist to establish themselves in New Mexico and they worked in the western
european art tradition. Without them there is no art colony at Taos or Santa Fe, no
Museum of Fine Arts, and no art market. These artists promoted the American West and
brought our culture, landscape, and lore to a much larger audience. Learn more about
them visiting some of the local museums.
For the past 27 years, we've been providing art and gallery guides. Why? Because art
galleries, art museums, non-profit art organizations, and artists are important. Even
though we've been around for years your support is also important. If you've listed in
the past, thank you, please renew. If you've never officially listed with us please do
so today. Listing information is located at the bottom of this guide. Thanks in advance,
your support is much appreciated.
